Hello! I'm Oren Nardi, and I graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science & Management from Cal Poly Humboldt in 2024. I'm passionate about drone mapping and using photogrammetry data to gain deeper insights into our natural environment. One of my favorite things is capturing aerial imagery data that helps us better understand natural landscapes. I'm an active member of the American Society for Photogrammetry and Remote Sensing (ASPRS), and during the summer of 2023, I had the amazing opportunity to work as the lead drone pilot for UC Davis (UCD) Forest Change & Analysis Lab (FOCAL) and Open Forest Observatory (OFO).
During my tenure at UCD, I conducted photogrammetry surveys across California, Oregon, and Washington, helping support research that spans some truly unique and diverse forest types. While at Cal Poly Humboldt, I focused on developing innovative sUAS applications in Forestry, Environmental Science, and Natural Resources. I also created a custom R script that generates centimeter-accurate Canopy Height Models and Digital Elevation Models from photogrammetry and LiDAR point clouds; one of my proudest technical achievements.

Overall, I'm excited to keep exploring the intersection of technology and nature, finding new ways to use drones and data to protect and manage the environments I care so much about.
